First Christian Church has a group of dedicated people who seek to involve new members and existing members in a variety of activities.
They greet members and visitors on Sundays and welcome visitors with a loaf of freshly baked bread and periodically invite new members to activities.
Additionally, they coordinate dinner and plan events that are open to members and friends. Last year, they attended Hello Dolly at the Interlakes Theater, the Sound of Music at the Eastern Slope Playhouse and an Agatha Christie Play at the Barnstormers. The men enjoyed a Sea Dogs vs. Fisher Cats baseball game in Portland.
In September, the church gathers for their annual picnic at the George Davidson’s Camp. They’ve also held a newcomers luncheon and held a cookie swap in December.
